The VIRTUE: Humility™ "12-O-6" Snare Drum breathes new life into designs that Frank Wolf developed in the early 20th century featuring a two-to-one lug ratio. Our variation alternates 6 double-sided tube lugs with 6 single-sided tube lugs to create the 12-over-6 lug pattern, yielding articulation from the batter head while offering optimal conditions for low to medium tuning from the resonant head. This arrangement allows for unorthodox, fat, raspy tones without compromising the responsiveness from the playing surface.
 
The snare drum features an 8-ply Cherry shell and incorporates our original Timbre-Ring™ design. This unique configuration allows for a large asymmetrical round-over on the top edge with a rounded bottom edge, offering exceptional warmth and tone, while still remaining open & resonant. Custom, hand-shaped snare beds were designed to deliver articulate snare response, albeit with a more jangly-voice courtesty of only having six lugs on the snare side head. A hand-rubbed satin finish embraces the naturally beautiful figuring.
 
Hardware includes chrome-over-brass tube lugs, DW mini-MAG throw-off, Fat Cat high performance snare wires, 2.3mm rims, and top-quality stainless steel internal mounting screws. Nylon shoulder washers facilitate smooth, accurate tuning and prevent tension rod rattle at lower tensions, while high-quality drumheads by Evans deliver professional results straight away.
