This Tama Starclassic Birch-Bubinga 14x5.5" Snare Drum was made in Japan circa 2008 and features a 7-ply (6mm) shell with three inner plies of Bubinga and 4 outer plies of birch. The wrap is a beautiful Garnet Red Sparkle and the drum has 10-lugs per side and original Tama Starcast diecast rims.
 
We've improved this drum in the following ways:
- Leveled the uneven bearing edges (typical for mass-produced drums)
- Reshaped profile with asymmetrical round-over edges for added warmth
- New, hand-shaped snare beds (medium depth for versatility)
- Puresound Custom Pro 20-strand snare wires
- New Remo Ambassador Coated & Ambassador Snare Side drumheads
- Sanded and finished the interior of the shell (unfinished from factory)
- Replaced internal mounting screws
- Thorough inspection, cleaning, and lubrication of all parts
 
This snare drum is in excellent cosmetic condition. Our work has yielded a slightly warmer tone with added responsiveness from the re-shaped snare beds and improved tuning, consistency and ease of tuning courtesty of the quality edges.
